Dhaka, May 05 (V7N) – The second funeral prayer for Barrister Abdur Razzak, senior Supreme Court lawyer and former leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, was held on Monday morning in the garden courtyard in front of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
The janaza took place around 11:00 AM, led by his eldest son, Barrister Ehsan A Siddiqui.
The funeral was attended by an array of prominent figures from the judiciary, legal profession, and political circles. Among those present were judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions, Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam, Supreme Court Lawyers Association President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Bar Council Vice Chairman Advocate Zainul Abedin, former Speaker Barrister Zamiruddin Sarkar, and Bar Council Executive Committee Chairman Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal.
Leaders from various political parties and lawyer forums also paid their respects, including Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, Dhaka Metropolitan South Amir Nurul Islam Bulbul, Chittagong Metropolitan Amir Shahjahan Chowdhury, and AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju.
Following the janaza, the Supreme Court Lawyers Association and other organizations laid floral tributes to Barrister Razzak’s body.
The third and final funeral prayer will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayers on Monday.
Earlier, the first funeral was conducted at Taqwa Mosque in Dhanmondi on Sunday night after Isha prayers.
