Dhaka, May 05 (V7N) — Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman has said that Bangladesh will take action if any push-in incidents occur during the political transition in India’s West Bengal.
He made the remarks on Tuesday morning after a meeting with a visiting US delegation at the State Guest House in Dhaka.
The Foreign Minister noted that the decision regarding the long-pending Teesta water-sharing agreement ultimately depends on India, particularly in the context of the new government in West Bengal.
He also indicated that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman may visit friendly countries such as China or India in June. During the potential visit, discussions on the Teesta master plan are expected to be a key agenda item.
The remarks come amid evolving regional political dynamics and ongoing diplomatic engagements between Bangladesh and its neighboring countries.
