Sirajganj, Aug 04 (V7N)- A coach of the Dhaka-bound Silk City Express train derailed in the Kodda area of Sirajganj, disrupting rail communication between Dhaka and the northern region of the country.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Shaheed M Mansur Ali Railway Station area.
According to railway authorities, the Silk City Express departed from Rajshahi for Dhaka at 10:55 am. The train derailed after one of its coaches reached the station area.
Several passenger trains have been stranded at different stations due to the incident. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
Railway officials said efforts are underway to remove the derailed coach and repair the damaged track. Train services will gradually return to normal after the rescue operation is completed.
