Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) — Two Bangladeshi nationals have been killed and seven others injured in missile and drone attacks in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Monday (March 2).
One of the deceased, Saleh Ahmed, a resident of Baralekha in Sylhet, died after being struck by debris from a falling missile in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. The other, Mohammad Tareq, from Azimpur Union in Sandwip Upazila, Chittagong, died in Bahrain, where three others were injured in the same incident.
In addition, four Bangladeshis in Kuwait — Aminul Islam (Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria), Rabiul Islam (Sathia, Pabna), Masudur Rahman (Begumganj, Noakhali), and Dulal Mia (Chandina, Comilla) — were injured in a drone attack. They have received medical care and are currently in stable condition, with the Kuwaiti Embassy maintaining regular contact.
The Ministry expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East and emphasized that the safety of over six million Bangladeshi expatriates in the region is a top priority. Embassies have been instructed to ensure that citizens follow local safety instructions, and all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard them.
