Cox’s Bazar, Aug 17 (V7N) — Mustafa Sarwar Farooqi, Cultural Affairs Adviser, fell suddenly ill during his official visit to Cox’s Bazar on Saturday. Following initial treatment, he was airlifted to Dhaka via air ambulance at around 10:30 PM as a precautionary measure.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner (General) Imran Hossain Sajib said, “Faruqi arrived in Cox’s Bazar on August 15 for a five-day mission. He was scheduled to depart on August 19. Several significant engagements were planned in his itinerary. However, at approximately 8:00 PM on Saturday, he fell ill at Hotel Ocean Paradise. Fortunately, there was no indication of a serious condition.”

According to medical reports, Farooqi experienced chest pain and is known to suffer from hypertension. While the ailment was not severe, advisers decided to shorten his schedule and transfer him to Dhaka for further medical care.

Farooqi was due to participate in a curation workshop at the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum on Sunday, followed by a discussion session on crafting Cox's Bazar into a cultural hub scheduled for Monday.
