Ukhiya, Aug 17 (V7N) — A felicitation and discussion program was held at Rahmaterbil Dakhil Madrasa in Palongkhali, Ukhiya, to honor students who achieved GPA-5 in the 2025 Dakhil examination.
The event took place on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM in the madrasa's adjoining field, chaired by the madrasa governing committee president Advocate M. A. Malek and moderated by assistant teacher Khokon.
Former Member of Parliament and Whip Alhaj Shahjahan Chowdhury attended the program as chief guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of collective efforts in improving the quality of education, stating, “No nation can progress without quality education. Teachers, parents, and all segments of society must work together to achieve this.”
He also called upon the district administration to provide government support to the madrasa and personally pledged a donation of Tk 50,000 to the institution’s development fund. Additionally, he assured attendees that efforts would be made to include the madrasa under the MPO (Monthly Payment Order) scheme soon.
Among the special guests were Advocate Abdul Mannan, senior lawyer at Cox’s Bazar District Court and president of Balukhali Kasemia High School; Maulana Abul Fazal, Amir of Ukhiya Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami; Maulana Abul Ala Roman, Amir of Palongkhali Union Jamaat-e-Islami; Rashid Ahmed Sawdagar, president of Thaingkhali High School; Maulana Nurul Bashar, principal of Farirbil Alim Madrasa; and Saiful Islam, president of Ukhiya Upazila Chhatra Shibir.
The welcome speech was delivered by Maulana Fazlul Karim, principal and founder of the madrasa.
Following the discussion, awards and honorary crests were distributed to GPA-5 achievers and attending dignitaries. Students, teachers, guardians, and local community leaders participated in the event, which transformed the entire madrasa premises into a vibrant, festive atmosphere.
