Dhaka, June 14 (V7N) — The long 10-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday comes to an end today, with offices, courts, and other institutions set to reopen in full swing from Sunday (June 15). As a result, working people have begun returning to Dhaka in large numbers.

On Saturday, Kamalapur railway station witnessed a massive rush of returning passengers. Every train arriving at the station was packed. Many travelers expressed satisfaction, saying that the longer holiday this time allowed them to return without the usual last-minute rush.

A similar scene unfolded at Sadarghat Launch Terminal, where launches from the southern parts of the country arrived loaded with passengers. While there were no complaints about launch fares, passengers faced discomfort due to the pressure of additional travelers on board.

Despite government instructions to follow health guidelines and wear masks during travel, most passengers were seen ignoring these directives. There was also no effective supervision by authorities to ensure hygiene and safety measures.

Interestingly, while many were returning to the capital, a significant number of employees of private organizations were seen leaving Dhaka, as they had not yet received Eid leave. Consequently, every outbound train from Dhaka was also packed with passengers heading for their hometowns.

With offices reopening tomorrow, Dhaka is expected to fully regain its usual bustling rhythm.
