Rajshahi, Oct 05 (V7N)- Journalists covering Rajshahi University (RU) have placed three demands following an attack on journalists on the campus, calling for legal and disciplinary action against those responsible.

The demands were formally announced on Sunday night at the office of the university's Chancellor at Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Hall, where the journalists gathered following the incident.

The journalists demanded that the university administration file a case against those involved in the attack and ensure the arrest of the accused by noon on Monday. They also called for the cancellation of the studentship of accused students and the cancellation of academic certificates of those who have already completed their studies.

They further demanded that individuals involved in the attack who are not university students be barred from entering the campus.

Another demand was that the university administration publish a press release on its website by Sunday night confirming the filing of the case and announcing its decision regarding the studentship of the accused.

The administration assured the journalists that it would file a case over the incident. Following the assurance that the case would be filed by Monday, journalists covering the university withdrew from their protest programs on Sunday night.
