Jhalokathi, Sept 18 (V7N) – Monashwita Women’s Degree College in Kathalia, Jhalokathi, observed Nazrul Year 2026 with a discussion, poetry recitations, music and dance performances on Thursday.
The programme was held at the college auditorium at around 11am.
Jhalokathi-1 constituency MP and chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Md Rafiqul Islam Jamal, attended the event as the chief guest.
The programme was chaired by Md Mokbul Hossain, president of the college governing body and Kathalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Principal AKM Kamruzzaman coordinated the event, while Mosa Farhana Jahan attended as a special guest.
Local political and community representatives, former college principal Abdur Rob Nakib, teachers, journalists and other invited guests also attended the discussion and cultural programme.
Students Lamia, Ankita and Mim performed poetry recitations, songs and dances, entertaining the audience during the cultural segment.
Teachers, students and prominent members of the local community were present at the programme.
