Dhaka, Apr 21 (V7N) — The 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations began across the country at 10:00 am on Tuesday, with the Bangla First Paper exam held on the opening day.

Following instructions to enter exam centers at least 30 minutes before, students arrived early to ensure smooth participation.

Over 1.85 million candidates

This year, a total of 18,57,344 students from 30,666 educational institutions are taking part in the examinations. Among them:

  • 9,30,305 are male students

  • 9,27,039 are female students

Special arrangements for smooth exams

Ahead of the exams, Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon and the Prime Minister’s Education Advisor Mahadi Amin briefed officials at the Secretariat.

They confirmed that:

  • Uninterrupted electricity supply has been ensured at 3,885 exam centers

  • Measures have been taken to keep areas around centers free from traffic congestion

  • Students and guardians have been urged not to create unnecessary panic

Strict monitoring to prevent cheating

To ensure a fair and transparent environment, authorities have implemented strict monitoring ব্যবস্থা. Over 3,209 centers are now under CCTV surveillance.

Professor Dr. Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, said that while many centers are already equipped with CCTV systems, efforts are ongoing to expand coverage to additional locations.

Authorities remain hopeful that the examinations will be conducted in a disciplined and peaceful environment nationwide.
