Earlier Indications
Prior to the recent elections, Niaz Ahmed Khan had indicated his intention to leave the post. At a press conference, he said the university’s overall situation was improving and that he believed it was an appropriate time to step aside.
He also noted that his decision was partly motivated by a desire to allow the newly formed political government to reorganize the university administration according to its priorities.
An official announcement on the acceptance of the resignation and the appointment of a successor is expected after the ministry completes procedural requirements.
