Oct 23, V7N- Shaila Haque, a 2013-14 academic year student of Food Technology and Nutritional Science (FTNS) Department of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) located in Santosh, Tangail, received The Erasmus Mundus, one of Europe's most prestigious and popular scholarships, for European Master of Sustainable Food Systems Engineering Technology and Business in Joint Masters programme. at KU Leuven University, Belgium.

Erasmus Mundus is one of the most prestigious and popular scholarships in Europe. This scholarship includes 100% tuition fee waiver, stipend of 1100 to 1200 Euros per month for 2 years, travel allowance and international air ticket facility at the end of the semester.

When asked about this, Shaila Haque said, "First of all, I thank Almighty Allah for everything." As I grew older, my desire to study abroad for higher education became stronger. Although I was never like a brilliant student. My mode of education till HSC was fairly regular (5-6 hours daily). I used to hear stories from everyone that there is no need to study in the university, so I studied very little in the first 2-3 semesters of my campus life, which resulted in a low CGPA in my bachelor's.

She also added that, 'In this journey of my higher education, the cooperation and inspiration of some teachers has always inspired me. Even though I was disappointed at times, they scolded me and reminded me how far i want to go? My parents or family never stopped me from pursuing my dreams but gave me the freedom to make my own decisions. Their faith in me is the biggest inspiration in my life.
I have little achievements in this ordinary life. Behind which a big contribution of my two sisters.'

Shaila Haque was born and raised in Chapainawabganj. His father Sirajul Haque is a retired government employee and mother Manjira Haque is a housewife. They are one brother and two sisters. She received a scholarship to Talent pool in the fifth grade and in the eighth grade. She completed SSC from Namoshankar Bati High School with GPA-5.00 and HSC from Nawabganj Government College with GPA-5.00.

Crossing the barrier of higher secondary, she got admission in Food Technology and Nutritional Science Department in Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU). She had a CGPA of 3.64 during his Honors studies and 3.81 in Masters.

It should be noted that the mentioned Erasmus Mundus Scholarship gives the opportunity to study in Masters and Joint Masters in leading universities located in different countries of Europe. Started in 1987, it has become a highly attractive and respected scholarship for students and researchers over the past 30 years.
