Panchagarh, May 07 (V7N) — Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has strengthened surveillance and launched intensified patrol operations along the Panchagarh border to curb cross-border crimes, including illegal infiltration, push-ins, drug trafficking, and cattle smuggling.

The information was shared in a press release issued on Thursday (May 7) by the Border Guard Bangladesh, specifically from its 18 BGB Battalion based in Panchagarh.

According to the statement, alongside routine patrols, special operations have been expanded in sensitive border zones. BGB personnel remain on high alert to prevent human trafficking, unauthorized border crossings, and smuggling activities.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Mohammad Kayes, Commander of Panchagarh Battalion, said the unit is acting in line with directives from BGB headquarters to maintain strict control over border security and suppress all forms of cross-border crime.

He added that surveillance measures and patrol intensity have been further increased to ensure effective protection of Bangladesh’s northern border areas.
