Bagerhat, Oct 29 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) conducted a public campaign in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat on Wednesday evening, urging voters to support the party’s electoral symbol “Sheaf of Paddy.” The event, which included leaflet distribution and a street meeting, was held at Daibagnyahati Bazar around 5 p.m.
During the campaign, leaflets highlighting BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform agenda were distributed among local residents, businesspeople, and supporters. The street rally concluded with a brief speech by district BNP leader and nomination aspirant for the Bagerhat-3 (Morrelganj-Sharankhola-Kachua) constituency, Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon.
The gathering was presided over by Daibagnyahati Union BNP President Mizanur Rahman Diyar. Among others who addressed the event were Upazila BNP President Md. Shahidul Haque Babul, Municipal BNP President Shikdar Faridul Islam, General Secretary Asaduzzaman Milon, Senior Joint General Secretary of the Upazila BNP Lecturer Rasel Al Islam, Senior Joint Convener of the Upazila Jubo Dal Ali Azim Babul, and Krishak Dal General Secretary Md. Sadiq Shikdar.
In his remarks, Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon alleged that a certain group was conspiring to destabilize the country over the upcoming national election. He stated that if the election is held on schedule, Tarique Rahman would emerge as the next national leader. He called on BNP activists and supporters to remain united, resist all conspiracies, and work tirelessly for the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.
Local grassroots leaders at the event expressed strong support for Shipon’s nomination in recognition of his long-standing dedication and service to the party in the constituency.
