Dhaka, Jul 19 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast temporary gusty or squally winds across seven regions of the country and advised river ports in the affected areas to display Warning Signal No. 1.
According to the inland river port weather bulletin issued for the period from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday (July 19), winds blowing from the south or southeast may reach speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour in several parts of the country.
The regions likely to be affected include Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.
The forecast also warned of temporary squalls accompanying the gusty winds, prompting authorities to instruct river ports in the affected areas to hoist Warning Signal No. 1 as a precautionary measure.
The Meteorological Department has advised boat operators, fishermen and river transport users to remain cautious and follow weather updates as conditions may change rapidly during the forecast period.
