Dhaka, Oct 07 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of a low-pressure area forming over the central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, with rain and thunderstorms expected in different parts of the country over the next five days.
The forecast was issued for 120 hours from 9 am on Wednesday.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions on Wednesday. Similar conditions may occur at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country on Wednesday, while night temperatures may fall slightly.
On Thursday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds may occur at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and at some places in Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Moderate to heavy rain may also occur in some parts of the country.
On Friday, similar weather conditions are expected, with rain or thunderstorms likely at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and at some places in Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Moderate to heavy rain may occur at some places.
Both day and night temperatures may decrease slightly on Friday.
On Saturday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at one or two places in all eight divisions. Day temperatures may rise slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On Sunday, rain or thunderstorms may occur at a couple of places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry, with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
Both day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country on Sunday.
