Dhaka, Jun 07 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds and lightning in various parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka, over the coming days.

According to a weather bulletin issued on Saturday, rainfall activity is expected to continue across several regions, with moderate to very heavy rainfall likely in some areas.

The Meteorological Department said that during the next 24 hours, many places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds and lightning. Some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions are also expected to receive rainfall.

Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated locations across the country during this period. Daytime temperatures are likely to decrease slightly, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

Forecast for June 7–8

From Sunday evening, rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds and lightning are expected at many places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.

Forecast for June 8–9

Beginning Monday evening, rainfall activity is expected in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, while one or two places in Rajshahi division may also receive showers. Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible in some areas.

During this period, daytime temperatures may rise slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.

Forecast for June 9–10

The weather office predicts increased rainfall activity from Tuesday evening, with many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions likely to receive rain or thunderstorms.

Some areas of Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions may also experience showers. Moderate to heavy, and in some places very heavy rainfall, is expected across parts of the country.

Day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures may increase slightly.

Forecast for June 10–11

From Wednesday evening, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning are likely at several locations in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.

Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur in isolated areas during this period.

Meteorologists said the overall rainfall trend is likely to intensify toward the end of the next five days, raising the possibility of heavier precipitation in several regions of the country.

Residents, particularly those living in low-lying and flood-prone areas, have been advised to remain alert and follow weather updates as conditions develop.
