Dhaka, June 30 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning of gusty or squally winds with speeds of up to 60 kmph over eight districts of the country.

According to a bulletin signed by Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman, temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds between 45 and 60 kmph may affect Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar districts. These winds are likely to be accompanied by rain or thundershowers.

As a precaution, river ports in these regions have been instructed to display local cautionary signal number 1 until 1 pm Monday (June 30).

Meanwhile, the Met Office has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning, across all divisions of the country through 6 pm today. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions. Rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue in various parts of the country throughout the week.

The public, especially those involved in river transport and fishing, are advised to remain cautious and follow official updates.
