Dhaka, Feb 09 (V7N)- Metro rail services in the capital will remain normal on February 12, the day of voting for the 13th National Parliament Election and referendum, according to the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam on Sunday.
The press release said that, in addition to maintaining regular operations, the number of metro trains will be increased beyond the normal schedule during voting hours to ensure smooth and convenient travel for voters.
According to DMTCL, on regular weekdays, the first metro train departs from Uttara Uttar Station to Motijheel at 6:30 am, while the last train leaves at 9:01 pm. From Motijheel Station, the first train towards Uttara Uttar departs at 7:15 am, and the last train leaves at 9:41 pm.
DMTCL confirmed that while these operating times will remain unchanged on election day, additional trains will be operated to handle increased passenger demand.
