Dhaka, Sep 15 (V7N) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Ejaz announced that a comprehensive master plan is being prepared for Dhaka’s local areas, alongside a drive to recover land occupied by the city corporation.
He made the remarks at the foundation stone laying ceremony of three bridges connecting Banasree and Aftabnagar over the Narai River at Aftabnagar Lake View on Monday morning.
The DNCC administrator said construction work on the bridges will begin Tuesday, aiming to facilitate future urbanization and improve travel for residents in the area. He assured that the work would be completed promptly.
Acknowledging delays in some projects, Mohammad Ejaz noted that they are being addressed while resolving the problems of small communities in the city.
He highlighted that lack of planning is Dhaka’s biggest challenge, with many crises arising from plot-centric housing development, insufficient parking, and inadequate road networks. He urged that new housing projects be implemented in a well-planned manner to reduce pressure on the city corporation.
