Dhaka, Jun 04 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Army has detained two individuals for allegedly overcharging passengers at the Abdullahpur bus stand in the capital. The incident took place on Tuesday evening, and the detainees were later handed over to Uttara Paschim Police Station.
The arrestees have been identified as Shri Madhav (38) and Md. Kamrul Islam (30).
According to military sources, acting on secret information, army personnel conducted a surprise operation and caught the two individuals red-handed while they were charging passengers fares above the approved rates.
After preliminary interrogation, both were handed over to local police for further legal action.
The army has confirmed that such monitoring and enforcement operations will continue to curb illegal practices and ensure public order, especially during the busy Eid travel season.
