Dhaka, Sep 03 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold in the country’s market, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 5,482 per bhori.
BAJUS announced the revised prices in a notification on Thursday. The new rates came into effect at 10am.
Under the revised price structure, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 2,37,362 per bhori (11.664 grams), including value-added tax (VAT).
The price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 2,26,690 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 1,94,614 per bhori.
Meanwhile, the price of traditional-method gold has been set at Tk 1,58,980 per bhori.
The price of silver has also increased. BAJUS has fixed the price of 22-carat silver at Tk 5,132 per bhori. The prices of 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional-method silver have been set at Tk 4,957, Tk 4,257 and Tk 3,208 per bhori, respectively.
According to the notification, the decision to revise the prices was taken at a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring at 9am on Thursday.
