Rangpur, Oct 20 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called for people of all religious communities to work together to build Bangladesh, drawing a parallel with the unity demonstrated during the country’s Liberation War.

“Just as people of all religions fought together during the independence of Bangladesh, we want to build the country with people of all religions,” he said at a roadshow in Paglapir, Rangpur, on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister said the government was working to stand beside people who earn their livelihoods through hard work. He urged citizens to renew their commitment to building the country together, regardless of religious differences.

“On the biggest festival day of the traditional religions, let everyone promise that Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians will build Bangladesh together,” he said.

Tarique Rahman also stressed the importance of hard work in advancing the country, calling for collective efforts to achieve national progress.

As part of his Durga Puja greetings tour, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Dharmasabha Temple Puja Mandap in Rajshahi in the afternoon. He is also due to attend a public meeting at the Haji Muhammad Muhsin Government High School ground in the city.

Later, he will travel to Chattogram, where he is scheduled to visit the puja mandap at JM Sen Hall in Rahmatganj before returning to Dhaka at night.
