Dhaka, Jun 19 (V7N) – The Public Examination Act has introduced strict penalties for digital cheating, including a maximum five-year imprisonment term and fines for hacking or illegally altering examination results and merit lists, said Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.
He made the remarks while addressing a Leaders Training Seminar organized by Rotary Bangladesh at the Krishibid Institution Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday morning.
The Education Minister said the government is working to develop students with the skills and knowledge needed to compete globally. He emphasized that the education system is being reformed with the aim of preparing students for future challenges.
He also said that expanding higher education opportunities for all must be balanced with employment opportunities, adding that education should contribute to building a skilled workforce rather than increasing unemployment.
Dr. Milon highlighted the government's focus on technical and vocational education, saying that practical skills development is being prioritized.
He further said technical education is being incorporated into textbooks as a compulsory subject from the sixth grade to encourage students to gain career-oriented skills from an early stage.
