Dhaka, Aug 17 (V7N) – Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has invited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit Saudi Arabia, according to the Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Shahadat Shadhin.
Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Zafer H bin Abiyah handed over the invitation letter to the Prime Minister today during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, Shahadat said.
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and Prime Minister Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir were present at the meeting.
The invitation marks a significant development in bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, which share strong historical, economic and cultural ties. Saudi Arabia is a major destination for Bangladeshi expatriate workers, and the two countries have cooperated closely on labour, energy and investment matters. Details regarding the proposed visit, including the schedule and agenda, are yet to be announced.
