Dhaka, Jun 11 (V7N) – Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that Bangladesh has not been able to progress in global competition as expected due to shortcomings and backwardness in the education sector.
He made the remarks while addressing the “Graduation Night 2026” program organized by the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on Wednesday (June 10).
The minister said that the Ministry of Education under the current government is working to eliminate bureaucratic complications and ensure a more effective and efficient education system.
Highlighting the importance successive BNP-led governments have placed on education, he said that former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia prioritized educational development, and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is continuing that commitment by giving the sector the highest importance.
Ehsanul Haque Milon said the government is striving to build a prosperous and discrimination-free Bangladesh where citizens from all backgrounds can benefit equally from development opportunities.
He also expressed his determination to build a “new Bangladesh” by utilizing the opportunities created through the sacrifices of those who lost their lives during the July Revolution.
The minister emphasized that improving the quality of education, promoting innovation and developing skilled human resources are essential for Bangladesh to compete successfully in the global arena and achieve sustainable national progress.
