Dhaka, July 27 (V7N) – A high-level meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday to review plans for replacing the National Parliament's existing sound system with a modern, technology-based audio system.
Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman attended the meeting, which was held in the Cabinet meeting room of the National Parliament Building. Acting Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal chaired the session.
During the meeting, officials presented a detailed overview of modern parliamentary sound systems used in legislatures around the world as part of efforts to upgrade the existing audio infrastructure.
The Public Works Department outlined several technical options, highlighting the proposed systems' capabilities, implementation plans and suitability for parliamentary proceedings.
The presentation also covered the operational efficiency, technical features and compatibility of the proposed sound systems with the activities and requirements of the National Parliament.
Participants shared their views on the proposed upgrade and provided recommendations and necessary directives regarding the implementation process.
Among those present were Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, Government Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, and senior officials from the relevant government agencies.
