Dhaka, May 29 (V7N)- Muslims who were unable to perform animal sacrifices on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha continued the religious ritual across the capital on Friday (May 29), with sacrifices taking place in various streets, alleys, and residential areas of Dhaka.
Many of those sacrificing animals on the second day said their primary goal is to attain the pleasure of Allah and share the joy of Eid with the poor and underprivileged.
Residents said some families could not complete sacrifices on the first day due to time constraints and overcrowding. Others are also performing sacrifices for aqiqah, the Islamic tradition associated with children.
Meanwhile, many residents were seen cleaning sacrificial waste on their own initiative immediately after the slaughtering process.
On the first day of Eid, sacrificial activities were carried out not only at locations designated by the city corporations but also in residential garages, alleys, sidewalks, and beside highways across the capital.
Authorities have continued special waste management operations to maintain cleanliness and public hygiene during the Eid holidays.
