Dhaka, Feb 20 (V7N) – Rapid Action Battalion Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman has stated that there is no security threat surrounding the observance of International Mother Language Day this year.

He made the remarks while addressing a press conference on special nationwide security measures taken for the occasion at the Central Shaheed Minar on Friday morning.

The RAB Director General said that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place in the Shaheed Minar area. A total of 64 CCTV cameras have been installed to bring the entire premises under surveillance.

He further added that adequate security measures have also been ensured at martyr memorials across the country to facilitate the safe observance of the day and enable people to pay their respects without concern.

AKM Shahidur Rahman also warned that no activities aimed at realizing demands by holding ordinary citizens hostage will be tolerated from now on.
