Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep concern and sympathy over the devastating fire that swept through Dhaka’s Korail slum, destroying a large number of homes and leaving many families homeless. He assured that the government will provide full support, including rehabilitation and necessary assistance for all affected families.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, Professor Yunus conveyed his heartfelt condolences to those who lost their homes and wished a quick recovery for the injured. He described the suffering of the displaced families as a matter of collective grief for the nation.

Professor Yunus said the government is committed to ensuring all necessary measures for the rehabilitation of victims and will stand beside them during this crisis. He added that emergency instructions have been issued to relevant authorities to intensify rescue and relief operations without delay.

He also directed officials to investigate the cause of the fire and take effective preventive measures to avert similar incidents in the future, emphasizing the need for strengthened safety mechanisms in vulnerable settlements.
