Dhaka, Oct 24 (V7N) — Remittances from expatriate Bangladeshis reached $1.92 billion in the first 22 days of October, equivalent to 23,436.62 crore taka at an exchange rate of 122 taka per US dollar, according to Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan.

He said that during the same period last year, the country had received $1.79 billion, indicating a year-on-year increase in remittance inflow.

Meanwhile, from July 1 to October 22, expatriate income totaled $950.7 million, up from $833.4 million during the same period last year — a rise of 14.1 percent.

This growth reflects the continued contribution of Bangladeshis living abroad to the national economy, supporting foreign currency reserves and domestic development.
