Teknaf, Aug 29 (V7N) — The Syed Azim Trust has honoured 26 students from Hnila Union in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar who achieved GPA-5 in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Dakhil examinations.
The “GPA-5 Reception-2026” was held at the auditorium of Moin Uddin Memorial College in Hnila at 3:00pm on Friday. The students were welcomed with flower bouquets during the programme.
The students honoured at the event came from 10 educational institutions, including Hnila High School, Leda High School, Hnila Shah Majidia Alim Madrasa, Rangikhali Darul Ulum Fazil Degree Madrasa, Rangikhali Khadijatul Kubra Women’s Madrasa and Hnila Umme Salma Women’s Madrasa.
The programme was chaired by Nurul Azim Sohel, chairman of the Syed Azim Trust.
Among those attending were Advocate Hasan Siddiqui, president of the Teknaf upazila unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and chairman of the managing committee of Leda High School; A.N.M. Towhidul Mashek, acting principal of Moin Uddin Memorial College; Shahidul Mostafa, assistant professor at Hnila Shah Majidia Alim Madrasa; Abdus Salam, head teacher of Hnila High School; and representatives of various educational institutions and the Syed Azim Trust.
The event was moderated by Kaiser Rashid, a teacher at Moin Uddin Memorial College.
Two of the GPA-5 achievers, Mohammad Tanim of Hnila Shah Majidia Alim Madrasa and Hizbullah of Rangikhali Darul Ulum Fazil Degree Madrasa, spoke at the programme.
Speakers congratulated the students on their outstanding results and urged them to maintain their dedication, discipline and hard work in their future academic pursuits.
They said achieving GPA-5 was only the beginning of the students’ educational journey and encouraged them to continue developing their knowledge and skills despite future challenges.
The speakers also urged the students to uphold moral values and remain vigilant against negative influences that could affect their personal and academic development.
They praised the students of Hnila Union for their strong performance, describing their achievement as particularly commendable amid what they said was an overall decline in examination results across the country.
The speakers also highlighted the social welfare and healthcare initiatives undertaken by the Syed Azim Trust since its establishment, including scholarships and programmes designed to encourage academic excellence.
They expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire more students to pursue higher education and contribute positively to society.
