Dhaka, Feb 14 (V7N) – On the sixth day of Operation Devil Hunt, a nationwide security operation, the joint forces arrested 509 individuals across Bangladesh, as confirmed by the police headquarters. This brings the total number of arrests made under the operation to 3,924 as of Friday afternoon.

Additionally, authorities reported that 948 other arrests were made outside the scope of Operation Devil Hunt on the same day. These arrests were related to different incidents or offenses that were not covered under the operation's specific objectives.

During the operations on February 14, the joint forces also managed to recover a significant amount of illegal arms and ammunition. Among the weapons seized were one shooter gun, one barrel gun, and several locally made firearms, which are believed to be used by criminal groups or individuals involved in illicit activities.

The operation was initiated by the government on Saturday night as a proactive measure to curb growing unrest and ensure the safety and security of the general public. The government's stated aim is to maintain order and tackle unlawful activities that could potentially destabilize the region. The joint forces, which include police, army, and other security agencies, have been actively engaged in raids and searches in different parts of the country as part of their efforts.

Operation Devil Hunt is part of a broader strategy by the government to increase security across the nation and target individuals involved in criminal activities, armed groups, and anti-state elements. The operation is expected to continue for the foreseeable future, with more arrests and seizures expected as security forces press on with their mission.
