Chattogram, Aug 18 (V7N) – A fatal collision between a pickup truck and a covered van in the city gate area of Chattogram claimed five lives early Monday morning. The incident occurred at 4:55 AM in the Akbar Shah area, as reported by the Fire Service in a statement.
According to the fire service, a team was dispatched to the scene at 5:05 AM, just 10 minutes after the collision occurred. The accident took place approximately 5 kilometers away from the Agraabad Fire Station. The firefighting team launched rescue operations immediately upon arrival.
Four individuals were declared dead on the spot, while three others sustained injuries. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The collision remains under investigation by local authorities to determine the cause.
This tragic incident highlights the ongoing concerns over road safety and the need for further measures to reduce traffic accidents in busy urban areas like Chattogram .
The Fire Service has not yet released the identities of the victims, and the investigation is ongoing.
