Kathmandu, Sep 02 (V7N)- The death toll from devastating landslides in Nepal has risen to 1,093, while rescue and relief operations continue in the affected areas.

More than 10,000 members of the Nepalese Army and police are taking part in the rescue efforts. Teams from neighboring India and China have also joined the operation as authorities continue relief distribution.

Nepal’s Disaster Management Department said at least 300 buildings have been completely destroyed in the disaster-hit areas, while many other structures have suffered damage.

Large sections of roads and communications infrastructure have also been destroyed, making rescue and relief operations more difficult.

Authorities said rebuilding the damaged infrastructure and restoring normal life could take at least three months.
