Habiganj, Aug 30 (V7N) — Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain made an unannounced visit to Habiganj 250-Bed District Sadar Hospital on Saturday afternoon to inspect healthcare services and the overall management of the facility.

The minister arrived at around 1pm without prior notice and visited several wards of the hospital. He spoke directly with patients and their relatives to learn about the quality of treatment, hospital management and the facilities available to patients.

Habiganj Deputy Commissioner Dr GM Sarfaraz, hospital superintendent Dr Aminul Haque Sarker and Principal of Habiganj Medical College Professor Zillul Bari were present after learning about the minister’s surprise visit.

During the inspection, the guardian of a child patient complained to the minister about difficulties faced by patients and their relatives in obtaining the expected services at the hospital.

Other patients and their relatives also reportedly raised concerns about healthcare services, hospital management and various forms of inconvenience.

The health minister listened to the complaints and assured patients and their relatives that necessary steps would be taken to improve the quality of healthcare services at the hospital.

During the visit, he discussed the standard of medical services, available facilities for patients and the overall management of the hospital with the authorities.

He instructed the concerned officials to take effective measures to ensure that patients receive proper treatment and the necessary facilities.
