Bangladesh Completes Departure for Zimbabwe Tour; Several Key Players Rested
DHAKA, June 24, 2026 (V7n) — The last batch of the Bangladesh team departed for Zimbabwe today, completing the national squad’s travel arrangements for the upcoming white-ball series and one-off Test.
The first batch had already arrived in Zimbabwe.
The second group left Dhaka on a 2PM flight with 12 members, including players and support staff.
Players in the final batch included Towhid Hridoy, Amite Hasan, Mahidul Islam Ankon, and Rabiul Haque. Members of the coaching staff also traveled with the group. Rabiul earned a recall to the national squad after missing selection for the previous Test series against Pakistan.
Bangladesh have rested several key players for the Zimbabwe tour. Captain Liton Das, vice-captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, pace sensation Nahid Rana, and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed have all been left out.
Meanwhile, pacers Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed have returned to the national setup for the tour.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play a one-off Test and a white-ball series in Zimbabwe as the team continues preparations for a busy international calendar.
