Dhaka, Sept 16 (V7N) – Bangladesh scored 154 runs for the loss of five wickets after winning the toss and electing to bat against Afghanistan.
Opener Saif Hassan contributed 30 runs off 28 balls, including two fours and a six, sharing a 63-run opening partnership. Captain Liton Das managed 9 runs from 11 balls, while Tanzid Tamim played an aggressive 52 off 31 deliveries with four fours and three sixes. Towhid Hridoy scored 26 from 20 balls, and Shamim added 11 from 11, while Zaker and Sohan remained unbeaten with 12 runs each.
In response, Afghanistan lost two wickets on the first ball of their innings, both claimed by Nasum Ahmed, including the dismissal of number three Ibrahim Zadran. After five overs, they stand at 20/2 with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Gulbadin Naeem at the crease.
Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed were the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, each taking two wickets—Rashid giving away 26 runs in four overs and Noor conceding 23. Medium pacer Azmatullah picked one wicket for 19 runs in three overs.
