BARGUNA, July 28 (V7N) – A cyber safety awareness programme and the inauguration of a multimedia smart classroom were held in Taltali upazila of Barguna to ensure students’ online security and prevent cyberbullying.

The programme was organised at Chhotobogi Komdeka Girls’ School in the upazila at around 12:00 pm on Monday.

Barguna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Miz Taslima Akter attended the event as the chief guest. In her speech, she said that while the internet offers many positive opportunities in the current era of information technology, a lack of awareness can expose students to various forms of cybercrime.

“Raising awareness and learning personal safety measures are essential, especially to protect female students from cyberbullying and ensure their online security,” she said.

Alongside the awareness discussion, a modern multimedia classroom was inaugurated at the school. The organisers said the smart classroom would play an important role in improving the quality of ICT-based education for students.

The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam, Taltali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Zahidul Islam, Taltali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Saidul Islam, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Tipu Sultan, and Primary Education Officer Abul Bashar.

Local administration officials, teachers, students, and respected members of the community were also present at the programme.
