Dhaka, May 6 (V7N): Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is set to return to Bangladesh today, Tuesday, accompanied by her two daughters-in-law—Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman. The trio is traveling aboard a specially arranged air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, departing from London and scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 10:30 AM.

The return of Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, marks the end of nearly 17 years of self-imposed exile from Bangladesh. Her arrival is being treated as a significant political and emotional moment for the BNP and its supporters.

Due to reported concerns over her personal safety, Dr. Rahman will be provided with enhanced police protection upon arrival. However, BNP sources say that Tarique Rahman has instructed party leaders and supporters to ensure that the security arrangements do not inconvenience local residents or create any public disturbances in the name of providing protection.

While the return of Khaleda Zia has not yet been confirmed as a political comeback, it carries major symbolic significance for the party, particularly at a time of heightened political activity ahead of potential electoral developments.

More details on the health conditions and future plans of Khaleda Zia are expected to be disclosed by BNP officials later today.
