DHAKA, Aug 9, (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) is set to publish the draft of an updated voter list tomorrow as a key step toward the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. This announcement was made by EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed today.
According to Ahmed, the new draft will include approximately 4.45 million eligible voters who were previously excluded. At the same time, the list will also remove the names of individuals who are deceased. The EC had previously issued a press release on August 4, confirming that the draft list would be published on August 10.
Following the publication of the draft, there will be a period for public review. From August 10 to August 21, citizens can submit applications for various changes, including the inclusion of eligible names, the deletion of deceased or ineligible voters, voter transfers, and the correction of any errors. All claims and objections will be finalized by August 31, at which point the final voter list will be released. The supplementary list, set for publication tomorrow, will include individuals registered in the voter database up to June 30, 2025, who were born on or before January 1, 2007.
