KHULNA, May 22, (V7N) – Khulna University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim today distributed Tk 2.5 crore among faculty members for 40 research projects, marking the third phase of allocated funds for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The cheques were handed over to the researchers at a ceremony held in the Central Library's conference room, organized by the Centre for Research and Innovation.

Speaking as chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Karim lauded the increasing quantity and quality of research at the university, noting the steady rise in research allocation as a "sign of positive progress." He emphasized that "every discipline now has ample research opportunities."

He highlighted that many of the university's research projects meet international standards, and showcasing them would further enhance the university's reputation. The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the growing interest in multidisciplinary and collaborative research among faculty members, calling such initiatives "timely and encouraging." He announced that dedicated funding would soon be allocated for these endeavors.

Furthermore, Professor Karim urged researchers to make more effective use of the advanced equipment available at the central laboratory to elevate research quality.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid Khan and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Nurunnabi addressed the event as special guests. Professor Dr. Mohammad Kazi Didarul Islam, Director of the Centre for Research and Innovation, delivered the welcome speech.

Among the grant recipients, Professor Dr. Sardar Firoz Ahmed from the Mathematics Discipline and Lecturer Nishana Afrin Nishu from the Sociology Discipline shared brief remarks.

Deans of various schools, heads of disciplines, faculty members, and other grant recipients were present at the event.
