DHAKA, May 08 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner, SM Sazzat Ali, announced today that comprehensive security and traffic management measures have been put in place to ensure peaceful celebrations of Buddha Purnima on May 11th.
"All necessary preparations regarding security and traffic management have been completed for the upcoming Buddha Purnima celebrations," Commissioner Sazzat Ali stated while chairing a coordination meeting at the DMP headquarters.
The DMP chief assured that the traffic division has developed detailed plans to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow in the vicinity of Buddhist monasteries throughout the event.
He further added that numerous CCTV cameras and archways have been installed at the Buddha Purnima venues to enhance security measures.
The coordination meeting was attended by representatives from various Buddhist monasteries in Dhaka city, Buddhist religious leaders, officials from intelligence agencies and specialized police units, as well as representatives from Dhaka South and North City Corporations, the Fire Service and Civil Defence, DPDC, WASA, the Public Works Department, and various other government and private service providers.
The session commenced with a PowerPoint presentation outlining the overall security plan, delivered by DMP Joint Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah.
