New York, Sep 26 (V7N)- UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting was held at the Hyatt Grand Central in New York, where the prime minister has been staying during his UNGA visit.

According to the Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary, the meeting took place in the bilateral meeting room of the Prime Minister’s suite.

The two sides discussed various issues of mutual interest, including human rights and other areas of common concern.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman briefed Türk on the human rights situation in Bangladesh.

The meeting took place during Tarique Rahman’s participation in the 81st UN General Assembly, where he has held a series of bilateral and high-level meetings with international leaders and officials.
