Pabna, Sept. 14 (V7N) — Social Welfare State Minister Farzana Sharmin Putul has called on leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to remain united and strengthen the party’s organisational foundation, saying no “fascist force” would be able to rise again if they stayed together.

“There is no alternative to strengthening the party. If we can remain united, no fascist force will be able to raise its head again. Therefore, we must strengthen our organisational foundation,” she said.

Putul made the remarks as the chief guest at a floral reception and views-exchange meeting organised by the Pabna District BNP at the Pabna Shilpakala Academy on Sunday afternoon.

The minister, who has been assigned responsibility for Pabna, said the district has various challenges, but the collective efforts of its political leaders could help resolve them.

“Whatever problems Pabna may have, the collective efforts of the leaders here will solve them. InshaAllah, we will ensure that the demands and aspirations of the people of Pabna are met by the government,” she said.

The meeting was chaired by Pabna District BNP Convener Habibur Rahman Habib.

Pabna-5 lawmaker Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Pabna-2 lawmaker Advocate AKM Selim Reza Habib and District BNP Member Secretary Masud Khandaker, among others, addressed the programme.

Earlier, leaders and activists of Pabna District BNP and its affiliated and associate organisations welcomed Putul with flowers after she was given responsibility for supervising and coordinating government activities and development programmes in the district.
