Barisal, Oct 01 (V7N) – Legal Advisor Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul has stated that he does not see any possibility of lifting the ban on the activities of the Awami League at present. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting a Puja Mandap in Barisal on Wednesday afternoon.

Dr. Nazrul said that while the question arises whether a party ban is temporary or permanent, in reality, there appears to be no immediate prospect of lifting the Awami League’s ban. He added that the International Crimes Tribunal prosecution team is taking steps to seek justice against the party as an organization, and based on his observations, no change is expected before the upcoming elections.

Regarding the Chief Advisor’s recent interviews with foreign media, the Legal Advisor reiterated that elections are scheduled for the first half of February, and no one in the government intends to extend their tenure beyond that.

He also called for strict action against those attempting to disturb peace in the hilly regions.
