A Dhaka court has rescheduled the appearance date for BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in 11 cases, setting it for July 29.

Initially scheduled for Monday, the appearance before the court was reset by Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Ash Shams Jaglul Hossain due to Khaleda Zia's reported poor health, which prevented her from attending.

Among the 11 cases, eight were filed at Darus Salam police station and two at Jatrabari police station, all relating to BNP's involvement in vandalism during a hartal in 2015.

Of these cases, 10 were filed by police, while one sedition case was filed against Khaleda Zia by an individual. Subsequently, in 2016, police submitted a charge sheet against Khaleda and other accused individuals.

In addition to Begum Zia, notable accused individuals in these cases include BNP leaders Amanullah Aman, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail, and Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
