Dhaka, Jan 07 (V7N)- After returning to the country, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to begin his first tour outside Dhaka, starting with the northern region of the country. He will leave Dhaka on January 11 and return on January 14, visiting nine districts during the four-day tour.
According to the finalized schedule, Tarique Rahman will visit Tangail, Sirajganj and Bogra on January 11. Later that night, he will travel to Rangpur, from where he will proceed to Dinajpur and Thakurgaon on January 12.
On January 13, he will travel from Thakurgaon to Panchagarh, Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat, before returning to Rangpur the same night. The BNP Acting Chairman is scheduled to return to Dhaka on January 14, traveling via Bogra.
During the tour, Tarique Rahman will participate in grave ziarat and doa mahfils for prominent figures and martyrs of the July and Dhirkhya Democratic Movements, including Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, Abu Sayeed and Nani Taiba Majumdar. He will also pay courtesy visits to the families of those injured and killed during the July Movement.
In an official letter sent to the district administrators and returning officers of the concerned districts, the BNP stated that the tour is being organized as part of religious and social programs. The party emphasized that the visit will not violate the code of conduct issued by the Bangladesh Election Commission.
