Dhaka, Dec 25 (V7N)- After delivering his scheduled speech at the reception venue in Purbachal, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited Evercare Hospital to see his mother, former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. He arrived at the hospital at 5:53 pm on Thursday (December 25).

Earlier, Tarique Rahman left the stage at the reception around 4:30 pm and proceeded to the hospital. His return to Bangladesh began earlier that day when the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying him landed in Dhaka at 11:40 am. Upon leaving the airport, he performed a symbolic gesture by removing his shoes, stepping on Bangladeshi soil, and taking a handful of soil in his hand before boarding the bus to Purbachal.

Tarique Rahman departed London’s Heathrow Airport on Wednesday along with his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, and several leaders of the London BNP.

His visit to Evercare Hospital marks the continuation of a historic day, following his homecoming after 17 years in exile.
