Dhaka, Dec 22 (V7N) — The BNP has secured permission from the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner to organize a reception event for its acting chairman, Tareq Rahman, who is scheduled to return to Bangladesh from the United Kingdom on Thursday, December 25.

Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, confirmed the approval on Sunday night, December 21. According to him, the party had formally requested permission to hold the event on the day of Tareq Rahman’s arrival.

The approval letter was addressed to BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and signed by Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Mr. Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury. The letter granting permission for the reception was delivered to the BNP central office in New Paltan at 8:30 pm on Sunday.

Sattar Patowary, a member of the BNP central committee responsible for office affairs, received the official letter. The party is expected to finalize arrangements for the reception as Tareq Rahman prepares to return to Bangladesh after his stay in the United Kingdom.
